What’s on in the studio

Every workshop is small, hands on and led by Amanda. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, you'll find a warm and welcoming space to make something beautiful. This is a home studio — come as you are and make yourself at home. Spots are limited — check what's coming up below.

Clay, Coffee + Croissants

Weekend · 10am – 12pm · $120 per person

A beautiful slow weekend morning in the studio with coffee and fresh locally made croissants. Small group, two hour guided hand building, everything included. You'll make two or three pieces — glazed and fired in the studio and ready to collect in around five weeks.

Private Group Workshops

Grab some friends and take over the studio for a private two hour workshop and make it your own. Birthdays, hen's parties, a reason to get everyone together. The whole studio, a tailored session just for your group so you can really settle in - we'll handle the rest. Send us a message to enquire.

Paint a Pot Workshop

Soma Clay Studio - Mount Coolum

  • None at all. Every session starts from scratch and moves at the group's pace. If you've never touched clay before — perfect, that's exactly who these workshops are for.

  • You'll be guided through the basics of hand building and make two or three pieces across the session. A mug, a bowl, a small dish — whatever feels right. There's no set outcome, just a guided process with room to make it your own.

  • Aprons are provided for everyone. Otherwise, wear something you don't mind getting clay on. It's a working studio — things get messy.

  • All clay, tools, glazing and firing are included. Just show up.

  • Usually three to four weeks after your session, once glazing and firing is complete. You'll receive an email and a text to arrange a collection time from the studio. For those travelling, items can be shipped for an additional fee, just ask!

  • Completely. BYO means whatever you love — sparkling water, kombucha, a good rosé. Nobody's keeping score.

  • Sessions are small by design — intimate, hands on, and more personal than most studios. Numbers are kept deliberately limited so everyone gets proper time and attention.

  • Once a fortnight. We keep them limited intentionally — it's a working studio first, and that's what keeps the experience special. Workshops dates are release in 4 weekly blocks, so keep an eye out or sign up to receive my newsletter for upcoming workshops.

  • Soma Clay is a private studio in Mount Coolum on the Sunshine Coast. Once you've booked you'll receive a confirmation with the full address and everything you need to know before your session.

  • There is street parking available at the studio.
